First Kan!

Well here's some pictures of my very first (mostly) finished Killa Kan! He's the one that looks like he was doing some wonky dance earlier.

I still have a little more painting I need to do; the gun and helm on the base, I just don't have the colors yet.
The idea behind this was his gunshot was causing him to get knocked back. Don't really know if it comes a cross that way or not, but whatever:

Magnetizing a Predator/Rhino

This is my first attempt to magnetize pretty much anything. It's till a work in progress, so I'll post pictures as I go.

I started with the turret:

I lined the back of the top half with magnets, and then filled the ammo/power box thing with the same number of magnets.

I decided to keep the guns how they're supposed to be put together, and magnetized the top and bottom of the turret.

I built up the magnets to meet in the middle for the first two, then realized that I could just glue a magnet down to one side, and build up only one of them - Much easier.

Because I wanted to hide as many magnets as possible, the side sponsons were a bit more work.

I drilled a hole through the top, then glued in the part of the sponson that sticks out which ends up covering the bottom of the hole so I was able to just set in the magnet and glue it.
For the bottom two, I held the sponson in the side of the predator, and glued them in place.

I did the same for the other side, but used three magnets on top instead, it felt a little stronger.

I also added some green stuff for more support - nothing fancy.

The actual guns were a little tricky because I found I needed a magnet on each side of the pin that came down so it wouldn't break off.

The lascannon was pretty straight forward, I had thinner magnets which were the outer two and didn't need to be built up. I did have to shave down the insides a bit. The inner two magnets I glued one down to the inside, and built up the other side.

The heavy bolter was more annoying because there was no real place to put two sets of magnets. The inside ones I did like all the others, while the outer two I had to actually place in a visible spot, but it got the job done, and I just smoothed it over with green stuff.
